Far Cry 5: Hours of Darkness transporte les joueurs dans un Viêtnam frappé par la guerre en revivant l'expérience déchirante de Wendell Redler de la campagne principale de Far Cry 5.

Jouable en solo ou en co-op en ligne, voyagez dans une jungle dangereuse où vous devez sauver des compagnons d'escadrons emprisonnés, ravager les Viet Congs et l'armée du Nord-Vietnam, et combattre pour rentrer chez vous par tous les moyens nécessaires.

Cette aventure DLC comprend de nouveaux équipements et la nouvelle fonction Frappe Aérienne, ainsi que de modes jouables différents qui seront déverrouillés après avoir terminé Hours of Darkness : le mode Survivant, donnant aux joueurs un nombre de recharges limité pour une expérience de jeu plus difficile, et le mode Film d'Action, où un nombre généreux de recharges permet une action au sommet.
